If you’re anything like me, you’re desperately missing your book club.  Book club is one of the highlights of my month, getting together with like-minded people to talk about READING!  Since the pandemic is in full swing, we haven’t been able to get together like usual.  Luckily there are a lot of options for meeting.  If you’re technologically proficient, you can always try out Zoom or Webex for a virtual meeting.  Bustle has 10 tips for hosting a digital book club including options for video sharing, using Facebook Groups, and more.

If you feel like you’ll die if you have to attend another virtual meeting, you can always check out online book clubs that are already established (and are free).  PBS News Hour’s Now Read This Book Club is relatively new, but has a very robust online presence.  They provide several articles relating to each month’s book choice, discussion questions and a video interview with the author where the moderator will ask the author some of YOUR questions.  Discuss each month’s choice with fellow book clubbers on their Facebook page.

There are lots of options if you want to book club via social media.  Oprah’s Book Club goes Insta-LIVE every week to talk about chapters of the book, talk with experts, and more.  She even shares pictures of readers with their copies of the monthly pic.  Monthly Book Club is another social media book club option.  They read 2-3 books a month and host their discussion on Facebook.  You can join in on the discussions whenever, or just watch and see what other people think.
