Chief's welcome
Welcome to the City of East Grand Forks Fire Department website. The fire department is a combination career/paid on call department, established in 1883. Serving the City of East Grand Forks and seven surrounding townships. Services provided include; EMS, fire suppression, technical rescue, fire code education/enforcement, fire prevention education/activities and emergency management. The fire department responds to approximately 1,000 emergency calls per year as well as several public service calls and public education events.
The department operates 24/7 from two fire stations. Head quarters at Station 1, located at 415 4th St NW and Station 2, located a 243 5th Ave SE.
The East Grand Forks Fire Department staff consists of the fire chief, nine full time and 25 paid on call firefighters. All firefighters are paid employees of the City of East Grand Forks. Full-time firefighters are required to maintain EMT-B and Minnesota firefighter licensure. Our paid on call firefighters are required to have both first responder certification and firefighter I certification.
The goal of the East Grand Forks Fire Department is to provide excellent emergency services, public services and fire prevention programs to the citizens of our community, surrounding area and visitors of the City.
