Human Resources

Purpose

The Human Resource Department provides a variety of human resource services for the City of East Grand Forks' diverse workforce. We do this so that the employees are managed fairly, well-trained, supported, and assigned job duties to accomplish City business goals in a cost-effective, efficient, and safe manner.

Along with human resource services, we also provide human resource tools, expert assistance, and information to our internal and external customers as well as support the East Grand Forks Civil Service Board of Commissioners.

Responsibilities

People are the City of East Grand Forks’ greatest asset. The Human Resource Department for the City is responsible for centrally setting the pace for human resource services by:

  • Identifying, hiring, and retaining our dynamic, diverse workforce
  • Developing and administering our compensation and benefits program to create a quality employee experience

Mission Statement

To support the City of East Grand Forks mission by assisting in the effective and efficient utilization of employee resources in the areas of planning, recruitment, training, development, compensation, classification, collective bargaining, benefits, and employee relations ensuring these services are provided in a legal and ethical manner.
